I am a recent graduate exploring fun, challenging options to grow my skillset and experience in animal welfare.
I graduated Spring 2023 from Washburn University with Biology Honors and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology. I finished with a GPA of 3.66.
In my free time, I enjoy reading books and articles, spending time with my dog, and challenging myself with new activities. I've recently taken up mountain biking!
I started my research with radio telemetry, tracking turtle movements with Dr. Benjamin Reed. Then, in summer 2022 I designed my own box turtle cognition project to discover if there was a relationship between cognitive performance and behavioral type. Summer 2023, my research partner Samantha Kim and I focused on field behavior assays

I bring personal and interesting experience with Testudines, a positive attitude, driven and hardworking personality, and an overwhelming interest in the subject. My goal is to get involved in welfare organizations as soon as possible, or potentially join a lab as either a Master's student or PhD candidate.
